A primary goal of my research is to understand the development of social cognition. My current research is specifically focused on the interplay between theory of mind and decision making as well as the developmental changes in these processes. Through this line of research, we aim to elucidate the role of the developing theory of mind in human decision making process and hopefully contribute to a better understanding of the development of social minds.

I am interested in cognitive bias in gambling (e.g., attentional bias). I also aim to test whether and how positive psychological factors (e.g., purpose in life; self-compassion) affect gambling behavior, finding effective interventions for gambling disorder.

My current research interests mainly focus on behavioral additions (e.g., gambling addiction, Internet gaming addiction and Internet addiction) from the perspective of neuroscience to investigate the neural correlates underlying behavioral addictions. Moreover, I am also interested in investigating internal protective factors to further conduct the treatments and interventions for those addictions.

My main research interests are categorization and category-based inductive which are central components of human learning. My goal is to figure out the relationship of cognitive processes and computations between categorization and category-based induction, and whether this relationship changes with age. From a multisystem perspective, my research interests include the mental and physical health of people experiencing adversity and how to improve their resiliency. I am interested in exploring the outcomes (both negative and positive) of individuals with various kinds of adversities and the underlying mechanisms, and whether there are more effective and accessible interventions to improve their well-being.

My research interests are mainly concerned with the age-related decline of cognitive ability, such as language production, and its neural mechanisms. We will explore the effects of cognitive control, bilingualism, and other factors on cognitive decline with behavioral experiment and neuroimaging (EEG/fMRI).

I am interested in exploring the mechanisms of social interactive behavior, especially during the recall and decision-making phase with neuroimaging, neuropharmacological and computational model methods. I hope my research can contribute to providing a simple and effective solution for health promotion.

Specifically, I’m dedicated to examining the brain mechanism(s) of the decision-making strategies among gamblers.
